York County Recognized

York County's Cooperative Garden was recently recognized and April J. Billet-Barclay, Director of Probation Services of York County, would like to recognize Sue Claytor for her work in starting this program and for her ongoing commitment to it, as well as the youth.  She would also like to recognize all of the hard work they put into the garden and the York County Community Service Coordinators, Pinkie and Thafany.  Each year 5000 to 6000 pounds of produce are donated to the food bank from the garden.

Attached is a news release about York County’s Penn State Master Gardner program’s recent 2nd place award for demonstration gardens at John Rudy Park. This is so special to the county because the garden is part of York County Parks and the courts’ juvenile probation assists the gardeners with this glorious cooperative that received international recognition. Also attached is an image of the plaque presented to the gardeners.
